New York School of Interior Design - Fall Programs

NYSID presents an exciting lineup of public programs for the fall 2012 season.

The highlight for this season is Jack Lenor Larsen: a retrospective exhibition of one of America's foremost designers of high-end textiles, on view at the NYSID Gallery, 161 East 69th Street, NYC, from September 20–December 5, 2012. The exhibition will give an overview of Larsen's career and contributions as a designer, collector and author with an array of original textiles from his extensive career.

Il protagonista di questa stagione sarà Jack Lenor Larsen: una mostra retrospettiva di uno dei designer americani più eminenti nel campo dei tessuti, in mostra presso la Galleria di NYSID, 161 Street East 69, New York, dal 20 settembre al 5 dicembre 2012. La mostra offrirà una panoramica della carriera di Larsen e dei suoi contributi come designer, collezionista e autore con una serie di tessuti originali della sua lunga carriera.

Some of the most important events of the season: on October 2nd at 6 pm, meet Geoffrey Bradfield as he discusses his new book; on October 10th, at 6 pm Helen Drutt English (gallery owner and leading authority of contemporary crafts) will discuss the evolution of crafts collections; on October 22nd, at 9.30 pm Rosalyn Cama (a practicing healthcare designer for 30 years and president at CAMA, Inc.) will discuss the role of interior design in creating healing environments; on November 15th, at 6.30 pm lighting designer Linnaea Tillett will discuss her early influences and innovative approach to lighting design in the city—indoors and out; on December 14th, at 6 pm James Zemaitis, head of 20th century design at Sotheby's, and a panel of experts will discuss what's hot and what's warming up in the market for contemporary design.

Tra gli eventi più rimarchevoli dell'autunno 2012 ricordiamo: il 2 ottobre alle 18, incontro con Geoffrey Bradfield che presenta il suo nuovo libro; il 10 ottobre, alle 18 Helen Drutt English (gallerista e una delle principali autorità di artigianato contemporaneo) discuterà l'evoluzione delle collezioni artigianali; il 22 ottobre alle 21.30, Rosalyn Cama (designer del campo sanitario da 30 anni e presidente di CAMA) discuterà il ruolo del design nella creazione di ambienti sanitari; il 15 novembre alle 18.30 la lighting designer Linnaea Tillett discuterà le sue prime influenze e l'approccio innovativo alla progettazione dell'illuminazione negli interni ed esterni cittadini; il 14 dicembre alle 18 James Zemaitis, responsabile del design del 20° secolo presso Sotheby's, e un gruppo di esperti individueranno nel mercato del design contemporaneo ciò che attualmente è all'apice e ciò che lo sarà nel prossimo futuro.
