On September 5th, John Cage would have turned 100 years old. Transart, the festival of contemporary culture that offers music and art projects in special places, decided to dedicate to him a real journey: 48 hours of artistic experiences through the Passo del Rombo.
The tour started Saturday, September 22 from Moso in Passiria with a performance by Natalia Pschenitschnikowa and Melati Suryodarmo, followed by an excursion organized in the natural park with Georg Friedrich Haas, composer and expert on wild herbs and mushrooms. The scenario chosen for this tribute to John Cage is certainly spectacular. Nature and architecture offer a perfect set for music performances.
The architectural sculptures of Werner Tscholl are part of the redevelopment of the mountain road. They were created to strengthen the image of the road without causing chromatic dissonance between the nature and the new elements introduced. The elements foreshadow not only as episodes celebrating the road construction of the '50s, but mostly as precise instruments of reading and measuring the topography and the nature of the place.
On Sunday they organized an excursion to the archaeological sites of the Stone Age and the last performance on the piano by Sabine Liebner at Universitätszentrum of Obergurgl.
