PEDERSEN + LENNARD

Pedersen + Lennard is a young and dynamic South African design company. Founded by Luke Pedersen and James Lennard, it focuses on quality products, innovative design and a simple aesthetic.

Pedersen + Lennard è un giovane e dinamico gruppo di design sudafricano. Fondato da Luke Pedersen e James Lennard, privilegia prodotti di qualità, design innovativo ed estetica essenziale e lineare.

They met while studying Industrial Design in Cape Town and went on to further their education and knowledge in Sweden and the U.S.A respectively. While working on a variety of projects for home, office and hotel, including lighting, furniture, storage and special commissions, they develop their own range reflecting their fascination with South African craft and the clean aesthetic of their Scandinavian forefathers.

The fabrication process is a combination of hand-made and machine-made elements which all come together in their Cape Town based workshop.

I due designer si sono incontrati durante gli studi di Industrial Design a Città del Capo ed hanno poi continuato ad approfondire le proprie conoscenze rispettivamente in Svezia e negli Stati Uniti. Mentre lavorano su una serie di progetti per case, uffici e alberghi, tra cui illuminazione, mobili, contenimento e commissioni specifiche, sviluppano una propria linea che riflette il loro fascino per l’artigianato sudafricano e l'estetica pulita dei loro antenati scandinavi.

Il processo di fabbricazione è una combinazione di fatto a mano e prodotto industrialmente; gli elementi confluiscono poi nel loro laboratorio di Città del Capo.

Their motto says: “We believe that things should be accessible, functional and beautiful.”

A few weeks ago they got a call to send the Glass Trestle Table to Paris for Generation Design Exhibit by Elle Decoration. They have chosen about 30 designers from around the world and the show can be seen at the Musee d’Art Moderne alongside some great works of art by the masters.

Alcune settimane fa hanno ricevuto la proposta di esporre il Glass Trestle Table a Parigi per “Generation Design Exhibit” promosso da Elle Decoration, Sono stati scelti 30 designer da tutto il mondo e la mostra sarà visibile al Musee d’Art Moderne, dove sono esposti i lavori dei Maestri del design.
