Parsons The New School for Design presents GENDER PLAY, a two-day conference (March 28th and 29th, 2013) that will explore the issue of gender and its impact and influence on the production of art and design.

Belgium is design

‘Belgium is Design’ is a declaration of passion for design, highlighting the unique characteristics of Belgium’s creative production. A joint declaration between the three different regions in the country, it recognizes that Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia are host to various talented designers that transcend cultural, linguistic and sociological differences to form a unique style. It is an approach that qualifies the statement ‘Belgium is Design’.

L'Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti il 16 febbraio a Palazzo Franchetti ha inaugurato "Paesaggio Italia", una grande mostra di Maurizio Galimberti che presenta in più di 150 immagini i suoi scatti più significativi, una sintesi della sua ricerca attraverso la riscoperta e la narrazione del nostro Paese, di alcuni luoghi scelti dall'autore per la loro significatività e da lui stesso eletti a luoghi del cuore continuando e affinando la sua ricerca iniziata già nei primi anni '90.

COMMONING THE CITY

If we look beyond the state and private property driven developments, which have dominated the urban landscape throughout Europe during the last fifty years, we encounter a rich tradition of cities and communities formed on the principles of the commons. Having been out of the picture for quite a while, the commons is regaining momentum in the international debate on and around spatial and social justice, the use of natural resources, and digital cultures. Both through practice and exploration, the concept of commons enters the contemporary city.

Si chiamerà DiagoLinea, il nuovo sistema di mensole ideato da 4P1B e progettato durante uno dei workshop 2012 di LAGOSTUDIO, laboratorio creativo dell’azienda. DiagoLinea verrà presentato al prossimo Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, dal 9 al 14 aprile prossimo.

Architectural Association Postgraduate Diploma in Spatial Performance and Design

The AA Interprofessional Studio is a post-professional course leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Spatial Performance and Design. Functioning as a creative office, the course explores alternative forms of collaboration between the multiple creative professions through the research, conception, design and implementation/production of a series of genre-defying spatial performances and constructions. By creating unique project-events that form the basis for continued discussion, the AAIS provides students with a starting point for individual careers within a new overarching discipline, and continues its attempt to make the impossible possible. We are looking for musicians, dancers, filmmakers, quantum physicists and all other artists and designers that want to work across disciplines.
