Design Time

Design Time is a pathway through the Italian design icons with six important moments during the day.
Inside the suggestive ex-industrial structure of the Gasometer Tank 751 in Beijing, that hosts, on the occasion of Beijing Design Fair, the presentation of a selection of the main Italian design companies, there is an exhibit about Italian Design.
A selection of objects placed in sets realized by an illustrator and that show scenarios of the everyday life: waking up, at work, lunch at home, free time, going out with friends, back home. The exhibit explores how Italian design has embraced, at different levels, all the aspects of our everyday life, from domestic to work, to urban. It is a transversal reading about the relationship between design and lifestyle, especially referred to Italian lifestyle. A very deep narration that passes through the different moments of the day, made up of illustrations and products, that can be read and known as elements of synthesis and connection between aesthetics, function of use and behaviours.
The project has been developed by the Milanese studio Migliore+Servetto Architects, specialized in temporary exhibition and museum projects, and awarded with numerous international prizes, including the Compasso d’Oro.
