Arik Levy at Bisazza Foundation

Experimental Growth by Arik Levy is the new exhibition at Bisazza Foundation. The show, from November 8th until December 21st, includes a structural modification to the architecture of the Foundation, a macro-installation called Rock Chamber and a video created expressly for the event Virtual Truth.

John Pawson at Bisazza Foundation

John Pawson's philosophy is based on the concept of simplicity. He himself uses the term minimum. This means that an object reaches perfection when you can not improve it by subtraction. On the surface, the simplified forms and the limited range of colors in his works recall the modernism of the twentieth century, but the most significant influences are the ruins of the Cistercian abbeys of the twelfth-century in Yorkshire, where he grew up, and the minimal art of Judd and Flavin. Judd's description of his work "the simple expression of complex thought" has been repeatedly cited by Pawson to characterize his approach to architecture.

La filosofia di John Pawson si basa sul concetto di semplicità. Lui stesso parla di minimum, intendendo con questo termine la perfezione che un oggetto raggiunge quando non è più possibile migliorarlo per sottrazione. A livello superficiale, le forme semplificate e la ristretta gamma di colori che si trovano nei suoi lavori richiamano il modernismo del ventesimo secolo; tuttavia influenze più significative si possono trovare nelle rovine delle abbazie cistercensi del XII secolo dello Yorkshire, dove è cresciuto, e nell’arte minimalista di Judd e Flavin.
