February 5th to 9th: the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013.
Once again the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will include an
opportunity for young designers to exhibit their work to manufacturers
and visitors from the furniture and lighting industry, as well as the
general public, as part of the Greenhouse exhibition, which this year
will be the work of the Note Design Studio.
The goal for designers who exhibit is to establish contact with
manufacturers and get the chance to showcase their designs. And it’s
always equally exciting for manufacturers and a curious general public
to discover the stars of tomorrow. Greenhouse’s setting in the
exhibition hall is extremely important: it should be a place to gather
and a hotbed for new knowledge, new ideas and new projects.
Note is a Stockholm-based design studio that looks at what is unique in every project and emphasizes that. They transform non-material values into tactile objects and spaces. Note works within the fields of architecture, product design and design strategy for Swedish and international companies, such as Mitab, Zero, Abici-Italia, La Chance and Zilenzio – and can now add Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair to that list.

Peeking into the list of exhibitors, I found something very interesting...
Eilersen - Block
The
saying says it all. This is an Eilersen. But does Block form part of
the collection of lounging sofas? Or is one on its own? Jens Juul
Eilersen called Block a primal sofa as its simplicity takes you on a
journey in time back to basics. It is so simple it is almost
advanced. As the market and people in general have become accustomed to a
cornucopia of designs, details and frills, the first impression of
Block is one of surprise. And it may also give rise to curiosity after
finding out why it gives peace of mind. Why the eyes don’t tire of it.
Why it is just right – without making a fuss about itself. A homage to simplicity: “My idea was to create as simple a piece of seating furniture as absolutely possible” Jens Juul Eilersen.
Offect - Carry On
Carry On is a portable seating solution that works perfectly by itself but also as a complement to other products. It is designed by Mattias Stenberg who has a strong belief in the need
of flexible working places in the public space. Today we work more in
projects and need environments that can
Carry On offers the possibility to sit down in an environment where you might not usually sit. Carry On is not only physically flexible; it also signals to the user how it should be used by the handle on top. Carry On has round
but simple forms and combines traditional materials and craftsmanship
with contemporary design and functions. It gives a tailored impression
with stitching that communicates good craftsmanship. It is easy to stack
Carry On, which means that it does not have to be stored elsewhere when
not used.
