The Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana will open on September 27th the 23rd Biennial of Design, one of the most comprehensive international exhibitions of contemporary design in Slovenia and Central Europe. 

DESIGN IN THE CITY: LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana: the city by the river on which the Argonauts carried the Golden Fleece, a city on the swamp where they lived in pile dwellings, the city with a rich legacy of Roman Emona, the capital of the Napoleonic Illyrian Provinces, the city characterized by Baroque and Art Nouveau, but most of all the city of master Jože Plečnik, who made it sensitive and open to new languages.

Lubiana: città sul fiume lungo il quale gli argonauti trasportarono il vello d'oro, città sulla palude dove vissero i palafitticoli, città dalla ricca eredità della romana Emona, capitale delle Province illiriche di Napoleone, città dal centro storico Barocco e Art Nouveau, ma soprattutto città del maestro Jože Plečnik, che l’ha resa sensibile ed aperta ai nuovi linguaggi.
