Richard Meier - Architecture and Design


From May 8th to July 7th 2013, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Richard Meier's career, the spaces of the Bisazza Foundation will host a retrospective of the work of American architect. Richard Meier will design also a site-specific installation that will enrich the permanent collection of the Foundation.

The exhibition, entitled "Richard Meier - Architecture and Design", will be organized by Bisazza Foundation in collaboration with Studio Meier and include some of the most emblematic works of the
famous American architect. The projects presented in the exhibition will highlight his design philosophy. The retrospective will include a selection of models, original sketches, renderings, photographs and design products.
Some of the best known projects presented in the exhibition will be: Smith House in Connecticut, Getty Center in Los Angeles, Neugebauer Residence in Florida, the Jubilee Church in Rome, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome and the Arp Museum in Rolandseck in Germany.

RICHARD MEIER
(Newark, October 12, 1934)
After studying architecture at Cornell University, Richard Meier settled his own studio in New York in 1963.
He received prestigious awards such as the Pritzker Prize for Architecture, the Gold Medals of the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects, and the Praemium Imperiale by the Japan Art Association.
