Since 2002 she has worked successively for Camper in Spain, for George J. Sowden in Italy and for Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec in France. At the same time she developed her own projects with differents editors: starting with Industreal, the Tools Galerie, Wallpaper and more recently for Foscarini, Moustache or Super-ette. She opened her own studio in January 2011 after receiving the Grand Prize of the creation of the city of Paris.
The designer is a fresh and original talent. This attitude comes out in products she designs, but also in the presentation she makes of them. On her website there are beautiful designs, representing the idea behind each object.
Nata in Francia nel 1979, Ionna Vautrin si è laureata nel 2002; attualmente vive e lavora a Parigi. Successivamente ha collaborato con Camper in Spagna ed ha lavorato presso gli studi di George J. Sowden in Italia e di Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec in Francia. Allo stesso tempo ha sviluppato autonomamente progetti con diverse aziende di design: dapprima con Industreal, poi con la Galleria Tools di Parigi, Wallpaper e dal 2010 con Foscarini, Moustache e Super-ette. Nel gennaio 2011, dopo aver vinto il Gran Premio della Creatività della città di Parigi, ha aperto il proprio studio.
La designer è un talento fresco ed originale, che emerge non solo nei prodotti che disegna, ma anche nelle presentazioni che ne fa. Sono splendidi i disegni che si trovano sul suo sito e che raffigurano l’idea che sta dietro ad ogni oggetto.

Chouchin, Foscarini, 2011
Chouchin is the japanese word for the traditional, symbolic lanterns made out of paper and bamboo and used as luminous sources or as lucky charms at the entrance of the house. Reinterpreted in a more contemporary way, these lights borrow the magic and the poetry from this symbolic and ethereal japanese world. It has an essential and, at the same time, evocative design: the body, made out of glass, which is obtained through a single blowing process, is embellished by a white collar underneath. Colour played a key role in the choice of materials: glass offers a warm surface on which the varnish produces a full, luminous colour.
Chouchin è il termine giapponese che indica le tradizionali, simboliche lanterne in carta e bambù utilizzate come lampade o come portafortuna all'ingresso della casa. Reinterpretate in modo più contemporaneo, queste lampade, prendono in prestito l’atmosfera di magia e la poesia del mondo simbolico ed etereo giapponese. Essa ha un essenziale e, al tempo stesso, suggestivo disegno: il corpo, fatto di vetro, che viene ottenuto mediante un processo singolo soffiaggio, è arricchito da un colletto bianco. Il colore ha svolto un ruolo chiave nella scelta dei materiali: il vetro offre infatti una superficie calda sulla quale la vernice produce un colore pieno e luminoso.

Binic, Foscarini, 2010
Binic is the name of a lighthouse on the coast of Brittany in France. Inspired by the marine world, this little lamp, like a private lighthouse, projects a circumscribed light downwards.
Its architecture is simple but surprising: a simple conical base which supports a large round head that seems to defy the force of gravity.
Binic è il nome di un faro sulla costa della Bretagna in Francia. Ispirata quindi al mondo marino, questa piccola lampada proietta verso il basso, come un faro privato, un fascio circoscritto di luce. La sua composizione è semplice ma sorprendente: una base conica che supporta una grande testa rotonda che sembra sfidare la forza di gravità.
